​Our querida, Executive Director, Dr. Marilú D. Galván passed away Sunday, June 16th, 2024 surrounded by family. She was always present, joyful, and fueled by a deep sense of justice. 

Dr. Galvan’s Memorial was held on Sunday, June 30th,2024 at
The Hispanic Museum and Library, 
3741 Broadway, New York, NY 10032.

Join us for the Rasanblaj Symposium: Decolonizing Y/our Experience in the U.S. Through Arts & Culture on Friday, May 30th, and Saturday, May 31st, 2025. What is Rasanblaj? It’s a feminist and decolonial practice rooted in Black aesthetics and Haitian history, uniting people, ideas, and spirits through ceremonies, protests, and collective events. At the symposium, we will challenge colonial narratives while celebrating art, culture, health, and the diverse identities of West Harlem. The event will feature panel discussions, art exhibitions, performances, and interactive sessions, culminating in a community action plan. 

On Saturday, June 7th, 2025, join us for the CCCD 21st Annual Arts & Crafts and Health Fair, where we will celebrate indigenous and alternative health practices with screenings and services designed to empower the community and help reclaim their heritage. This event is funded by the West Harlem Development Corporation.

Acompáñanos para el Simposio Rasanblaj: Descolonizando Tu/ Nuestra Experiencia en los EE. UU. a Través del Arte y la Cultura el viernes 30 de mayo y el sábado 31 de mayo de 2025. ¿Qué es Rasanblaj? Es una práctica feminista y decolonial enraizada en la estética negra y la historia haitiana, que reúne personas, ideas y espíritus a través de ceremonias, protestas y eventos colectivos. En el simposio, desafiaremos las narrativas coloniales mientras celebramos el arte, la cultura, la salud y las diversas identidades del West Harlem. El evento contará con mesas redondas, exposiciones de arte, presentaciones y sesiones interactivas, culminando en un plan de acción comunitario. 

El sábado 7 de junio de 2025, acompáñanos en la CCCD 21st Annual Arts & Crafts and Health Fair, donde celebraremos prácticas de salud indígenas y alternativas con exámenes de salud y servicios diseñados para empoderar a la comunidad y ayudar a reclamar su herencia. Este evento esta fundado por el West Harlem Development Corporation.
